This restaurant is great if you meet guests who arrive in Amsterdam on the last flight. Located in the Handboogstraat, its next to bar Disco Dolly and Bloemenbar and the famous coffeeshop Dampkring. So you can grab something tasty to eat with your guests, hit the bar for some dancing and finish your night off with a special space cake!
Their kitchen closes at 3am on the weekends and 2am during the week. The menu contains burgers, steaks and even nachos. The ribs are highly recommended. Definately worth checking out if you are not in the mood for the usual fast food places.
Located very close to Dam square, in the tourist district, I would normally have given this eetcafe a miss. However one night, I wanted to have a late dinner with my girl friends and we decided to try it. There are no reservations and you have to wait at the bar for a table. The waiter was really friendly and because there is no menu, he explained the different dishes to us. I suggest the beef steak on goat cheese with strawberry sauce. I know it sounds strange, but the combination of flavours is delicious and you should definately try it. The lamb shank is also really good. If the restaurant is full, you can always go up the street a few doors down to the posh Bubbles and Wine to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. The street also has the Bierfabriek which serves delicious grilled chicken and beer to lots of young tourists. On the Rokin side, you can find bars Italia and Tara which are usually filled with expats and are nice places to start your night out.
