Pinsa’s

When I lived on Prinsen Eiland, I would sometimes go to Pinsa’s in the Spaandammerbuurt. I see now that it was voted the best pizzeria in the Netherlands. The owners are very welcoming and they also run an Italian cooking school in the same restaurant. Its so nice to actually see an Italian mama cooking in the kitchen. We waited a long time for our pizzas, but it was worth the wait as they were really delicious.

Pizza La Perla

laperla

Located in a super gezellig street in the middle of the Jordaan with a beautiful view of the Westerkerk, I cannot think of a nicer place to spend a warm summer evening.

The pizzas are pricey but the ingredients are great quality. I recommend the Proscuitto San Daniele as the combination of the salty parma ham and smooth creaminess of the buffalo mozzarella is delicious.

For dessert I recommend you go to Monte Pelmo for a scoop of their delicious ice cream. Its located in the same street and perfect to enjoy while walking along the canals.

Yam Yam

Yam Yam is one of the first pizza places i discovered in Amsterdam. The quality is always consistently good. Located in the Westerpark, this Italian restaurant is famous for their wood fired oven pizzas and calzones. I recommend the Pizza Yam Yam which contains their special truffle sauce.

Mangiamore

Mangiamore

This is perhaps the best pizza in Amsterdam. I have tried other places, but the pizza here tastes truly authentic and even my Italian friends agree with me. Located in the Rivierenbuurt, I don’t always get a chance to get my fix, but I ‘m never disappointed when I do go. I highly recommend the Mangiamore special which has a little bit of all the flavours. The white truffle sauce is amazing and don’t forget to try the tiramisu. They also have pizzerias in other neighboorhoods: Mangiancora in De Pijp and Mangiassai in Amsterdam Oost.
