Located on the top floor of the Hilton hotel next to cental station, the Skylounge is a hip and trendy place full of expats and tourists.
It gets really busy on the weekends and service can be slow. I recommend coming here just to experience the beautiful panoramic views of the Amsterdam skyline or for an afternoon drink on the terrace.
This building designed to resemble a ship is actually an interactive science centre for children.
The roof of the building offers one of the best views of the city. There are even deck chairs so you can sit back and enjoy the view and sunshine.
This is a really nice spot to stop by with friends or even just to get a different perspective of the city.
This old newspaper building located in Amsterdam Oost was closed for most of last year for extensive renovations. The newly re-opened Volkshotel with the top floor Canvas bar, has the best 360 views of the city. The bar is a restaurant during the day and clubbing hot spot at night. Start your night out with drinks here and then extend the party to my favourite club Trouw just down the street.
This is honestly the best place to bring family or friends when they visit Amsterdam for the first time. Located right in the heart of the city centre, this modern restaurant is built on top of the existing Kalvertoren building and offers an a amazing 360 degree view of Amsterdam through its huge stylish glass windows.
I would recommend coming here for a coffee or light lunch whilst exploring the city centre.
